Opportunity

London-based Orwell Group, founded in 2005, has launched a pan-European current account in the UK, France, Spain and Italy. The product aims to take on services provided by traditional banks, using open architecture software and promising consumers greater choice and less hassle. I've worked with multiple teams and had the opportunity to work on several projects at the same time.

I've started focusing on the backend, where I was responsible for the following projects:

• Card and bank account generation services

• Internationalisation (i18n) service

• 2FA service, created on top of Identity Server 3

• KYC & Onboarding services (using PEP and several other databases)

After this, I moved to the frontend and finally worked on Android thanks to my background. From there, I took leadership of the mobile team, working closely with the design, product and operation teams.

In order to increase our throughput, we also set up a CI pipeline based on Teamcity in order to checkout, build, test and deploy the entire platform and the Android/iOS clients. Jira was also fully integrated with Teamcity and the version control system in order to automate several manual tasks and provide more visibility to the Product Owners.
