Opportunity & Solution

Mealcity is a restaurant search engine for the Swiss public. Built with React-Native, the app shows real-time deals at restaurants nearby and sends the user premium coupons. Users can choose to select one of their local partnered charities and donate what they saved to who really needs it the most.

I've been responsible for architecting, writing and maintening the backend. The main challenge was scoring customers based on their location and history, in order to notify them via push notification about upcoming deals. On the app, I've helped creating the 'redux layer' used to persist the API responses in the store.
